Managing Director at Sagemont Tax, Maxwell Burns is a highly technical CPA with over ten years of public accounting and M&A tax experience. He leads Sagemont Tax’s team of tax, payroll, and accounting professionals and supervises the entire ERC accounting process from start to finish.
Along with tenure at KPMG and Alvarez & Marsal, Maxwell previously worked at RSM, a market-leading audit, tax, and consulting firm. In this role, he focused on Cross-Border Mergers & Acquisitions, Tax Advisory, and Structuring for private equity clients and strategic corporate investors.
Maxwell comes from a family of accountants and is the oldest of four accountant brothers. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Florida in 2010 and received a Master’s degree in Accounting (Taxation) from Florida State University in 2012.
